Principal Executive Officer
Hari has extensive experience in both ICT and Education sectors in Australia and overseas. He has a Master’s degree in Information Technology. He has worked as a software engineer and ICT consultant for more than 17 years with companies like Aero Info and Siemens Healthcare. He has managed the delivery of Federation University’s IT programs for over 4 years at Melbourne Institute of Technology. He has also worked as a lecturer delivering programming and software engineering subjects at the University of Ballarat. Hari also runs an IT company, Mindwaves Consulting that specialises in software development and software engineering solutions.
From 2010 to mid-2013, Hari was General Manager and Director of College of Innovation and Industry skills (now known as The Cantillon Institute), an education and training provider in Perth. Under his leadership, CIIS had many achievements including Finalist International provider of the year 2010, 2012 – WA Training Awards, LIAWA Awards for Excellence 2011 – Winner Best Student in Construction and Winner Student of the year – ACPET Awards for Excellence 2013.
ICT Trainer/ Consultant
Aubrey Adams has 30 years’ experience as a computer system, IT networking, and data communications lecturer, and also a Cisco Networking Academy instructor, at TAFE and at university. With a background in telecommunications and computer-aided design, he has qualifications in electronic engineering, and in management; and has graduate diplomas in computing and education; in addition to having held relevant industry and vendor certifications. He has taught across a broad range of related vocational and educational training areas.
Aubrey has delivered training using online and related learning technologies since the 1990s and continues to apply these approaches to his teaching. Since 2007, he has developed online curriculum and assessments for the Cisco Networking Academy, and has authored and technically reviewed a number of Pearson Education and Cisco Press publications, including video, simulation and online projects.
A strong belief in teaching students both required technical skills and the important soft skills to allow for good employment outcomes drives him in the classroom to give his students the best chance at positive experiences after their studies.
ICT Trainer and Assessor
A consultant and practitioner of ITSM, Project Management, Process Improvement, ITIL Capabilities and Lifecycle Trainer, and IT Business Analyst. Sam has over 15 years of experience within the IT industry, started his career as a computer technician, then system administrator and subsequently played the roles of Business Analyst, IT Manager, IT Consultant, Project Manager, and Training Manager. He has implemented solutions, improved IT processes, managed projects and delivered training initiatives, and workshops on various best practices; including Project Management, ERP & CRM, Business Analysis, ITIL V2 and V3 Track, COBIT, ISO20K to a number of leading private and public sector organisations in Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Egypt, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Kuwait, Jordan, KSA and UAE.
ICT Trainer and Assessor
Arif is an Electrical Engineer, IT professional & PMP certified with over a decade of professional experience in ICT training and professional development. He has completed Bachelor of Engineering (electrical) and Master of Computer Science degrees from renowned engineering universities in Pakistan and has completed CCNA and Diploma in Information Technology Networking in Australia.
Arif is a member of Institute of Engineers Australia and Pakistan Engineering Council. He holds an extensive experience in planning, organising and conducting ICT and career progression courses at technical training colleges and schools. He has sound knowledge and skill to plan and manage IT courses for students who are stepping into the field of information technology and telecommunication sector. He has the ability to adapt to new needs, standards and working environment quickly. He is a compelling and charismatic communicator who cares deeply about institutional progress and trainee’s career at NIT. Most of all he has a powerful sense of respect and a strong passion for training.
Vidhu is an ICT Trainer-Assessor at NIT. She has double Masters in Information Technology (from Murdoch University – WA) and in Mathematics and Computing (from Thapar University – Patiala, India). She has 2+ years of stakeholders’ engagement experience. She is also an inspirational writer and has written a number of articles for International Students. Some of her articles have been re-published by Australian Computer Society (ACS) on different platforms. She loves helping students in achieving their academic goals and motivating them for their professional development. She is also volunteering as a mentor for young girls in IT via ‘Tech Girls Movement’. This is one of her ways to give back to the society and to encourage the participation of young girls and women in IT.
Manager Professional Year Program
Elaine has an extensive background in public sector management with skills in policy analysis, research, communications and marketing and project management. Elaine is passionate about innovation and specialises in innovation design for organisations. She is also an adaptive facilitator with an ability to deliver inspiring and engaging workshops. She is a systems thinker and leader, with an ability to draw connections between parts while being cognisant of the whole. As a social innovator with a flair for discovering co-creation and co-design opportunities, Elaine works on a number of projects including the Midland Collaborative Hub and the Victoria Park Knowledge Café on waste management.
Professional Year Trainer
Carolyn Toleman is an experienced career coach who specialises in providing IT graduates with professional skills required for a successful career in the IT industry. She has helped hundreds of students begin their IT careers by empowering them with the tools they need to succeed beyond their academic studies.
Carolyn is an active member of the Australian Computer Society and develops Work Integrated Learning partnerships with industry. She has been on Industry Advisory Committees of Polytechnic West, ECU School of Regional and Professional Studies and Curtin University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Carolyn has a M-Commerce (IS) from Curtin University; Graduate Diploma (IT) from ECU and Bachelor of Science (Honours CS) from UWA. In her spare time Carolyn volunteers with seniors running a community op-shop.
She has seven plus years of experience in training and education industry, teaching business and management courses in Universities, management schools and training in RTOs. She has worked three years with Delhi School of Economics, which is one of the best institutes in India. She has also worked as freelancer for developing units in line with training packages of VET. Her academic qualifications include Master of Philosophy (Finance) and Master of Commerce. She has pursued research in areas of finance and published research papers, presented papers in national and international conferences. Her family business, Chakra restaurant has provided her a platform to put her skills into industry practice, where she manages various dimensions of running a business. She also loves to give back to community as a volunteer to organizations like Red Cross, Missionaries of Charity and PRAYAS.
English Trainer and Assessor
Susan is a qualified English trainer with over 15 years of experience in education sectors both in Australia and overseas. She has a Master’s degree in English language and literature, and also a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She also holds a recognised TESOL qualification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Therefore, she has an extensive background and understanding of facilitating English language teaching and soft-skills training. Additionally, she is also fluent in a second language herself (Spanish) and is currently learning a third language (French), giving further insight to the difficulties experienced by her students in learning an additional language.
Experience in: TESOL, Bilingual Education, preparing students for examinations (PTE, IELTS, CAE, CPE).
Skills and attributes: communication and interaction with others, dealing with diversity, knowledge of different teaching and training techniques, patient and passionate, understanding of student difficulties and individual needs, excellent oral and written communication skills along with output oriented behaviour and time management skills, adept in planning and curriculum development, and she will always go the extra mile for others.
English Trainer and Assessor
Olga is a qualified English trainer with over 10 years of teaching experience both in Australia and overseas. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Education and English language and literature. She also holds a world-wide recognised Cambridge CELTA qualification (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults). Additionally, she is fluent in other languages (Russian and Ukrainian), has basic knowledge of French, German, and Spanish, which helps her understand the difficulties her students face when learning a foreign language.
Experience in: TESOL, ESL, preparing students for examinations (PTE, IELTS).
Skills and attributes: patience; adaptability (different individuals learn in different ways, and some lessons need unique teaching tools; Olga knows how to adapt her lesson plan to her students, so that all the learners learn optimally); imagination (Olga takes the initiative to find new ways for you to learn English); teamwork; constant learning – you can never know too much when you are a teacher, especially when it comes to the best way to teach your students; communication.
English Trainer and Assessor
After graduating from Curtin University and a period of work in Australia, she commenced her experience in the education sector as an English language Trainer for the Department of University and Research Education – Italy, preparing students in public schools and extending her services of Professional Development to overseas teachers. Her international experience gave her wide exposure to cultural diversity while equipping her with in depth knowledge of the educational regulatory framework.
She honed her educational skills further by focusing on the vocational education space while becoming a qualified Trainer and Assessor and obtaining background experience in the delivery of General Education for Adults, foundation skills workshops and resource development. She is also highly experienced in developing and delivering student support activities including providing compliance and policy advice and well versed in VET project management.
Caterina’s wide ranging expertise in VET was instrumental in achieving organisational goals and setting high standards for previous organisations that she worked for.
Training Administration Support
Guninder is a passionate and skilled ICT professional with 6 years of experience. She has Bachelor and Master degree in Computer Applications along with Certificate IV in IT Networking. Guninder started her career as a Tutor while she was studying. She then worked for Infosys as a Systems Engineer for two years after completion of her Master’s degree.
Guninder joined NIT as a Junior System Administrator and IT Support through Australian Computer Society Foundation Scholarship. Guninder is now our Training Administration Support. She provides IT and Course Administration support for our Trainers, students and other staff members.
Team Lead – Student Services
Rene has a history in student counselling services and utilizes this experience when it comes to interacting with international students. She uses her experience to promote motivation, engagement, and achievement within students so that they feel confident and driven. Rene’s ease with student interaction goes further as she has experience in training sector as well.
Having been to numerous education events in Australia and overseas, Rene understands and relates to international students and their needs. Rene strongly believes that multiculturalism and diversity are the pillars for the contemporary generation and she fully embraces their role in the Australian education sector. Furthermore, she encourages the idea of global interaction and respect for the ethnic mosaic.
Rene is colloquial, friendly and helpful in her routine interactions and proficient, concise and adaptable when it comes to her profession. In her current role, Rene strives to support the students with proper guidance so that they effectively initiate their studies and keep supporting them during their voyage as they plough forward with NIT.
Student Services and Admissions Assistant
Beth is from England, United Kingdom, and came to Australia 9 years ago with her family. With years of experience in customer service roles and a fresh graduate from Curtin University, she is a friendly and welcoming face for the students at the NIT Australia campus with an understanding of modern student life. Assisting with admissions as well as general reception duties, Beth follows the enrolment process of many students from application to their orientation day, and is always ready to lend a helping hand.
Marcos is Brazilian and came to Australia in 2013 as an English student. He fell in love with Perth and decided to migrate to Australia. He has a Bachelor in Commerce (Major in Finance), a Diploma in IT and Diploma in Accounting. Marcos is also an Excel VBA Developer certified by Microsoft and is working toward his MBA at Curtin University.
Marcos brings his perspective as an International Student himself to NIT Australia and aggregates his four years’ work experience in the International Education Sector in Australia. Marcos had been part of non-for-profit International Education Projects such as Enlaces and GRUDI supported by World Bank Group, HP and the government of Sao Paulo, Brazil, which aimed to spread, teach technology and facilitate IT access to low-income teenagers in Brazil.
Marcos is passionate about Technology and Innovation, he believes that Education is the most powerful tool to change and make the world a better place.
Rita brings her international and creative perspectives gathered from her work experience in Singapore, Shanghai and Suzhou. Locally, she has helped several non-profit organisations including the Fremantle Sailing Club and Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation in refining their marketing strategies. Her qualifications are Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marketing.
Rita enjoys setting new challenges and believes in continuous learning. She has explored various industries including healthcare, retail and shipping, thus proving her quick adaptability skills in new environments. Coming from Singapore, a multi-cultural country, she understands and relates well to international students who have like her, travelled to Australia to pursue their education and dreams. She strongly believes in embracing diversity and the importance of cultivating a global mindset with cross-cultural sensitivity and competency.

A Web Analyst Programmer with six years of experience in Application Development in the education sector, mainly to manage RTO operations. Prakash attained a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from Ballarat University, Melbourne. He is highly motivated and focused on developing simplified web solutions.
Specialties: Gathering and analysing the information needs of the organisation and developing technology solutions to meet those needs. Managing IT to ensure it supports the goals of the organisation. Providing advice to end clients/staff and liaising with senior stakeholders within the business on IT issues and planning.
